This area is located at the entrance of the park.  If you walk down the path behind the picnic pavilions, you will first see the wood fence.  There is an open area between the concrete path and the woods that is great for morning sessions.  You can use the tree line to help block the sun.  However, you can change your angle at sunset (facing away from the pavilions) and produce killer sunset images.  In early Spring and Fall, they usually let the grass grow up a bit for more of a field look.
